Guys, I've actually stuck to this again! Weight loss *is* attainable! c: I'm so pleased! Lost 5lbs from my starting point, and my BMI is now officially out of the obese range! I am a happy bunny. I'm sure this has come from a combination of things. My medication's been reduced a lot - I'm now taking a lot less insulin (8 less units of basal insulin, and as my blood sugars have been much more controlled I've not had to take adjustment doses). As insulin facilitates weight gain I'm sure this has really help, and I certainly feel less guilty about the amount I'm taking, especially following the Carb Counting course I did earlier in the year. Yesterday I managed to take down my insulin:carb ratio from 4:1cp (2:1mmol/l) to 3:cp (1.5/1mmol/l). Exciting times!! I'm also still trying to stuck to a low-carb diet to keep my insulin intake down. Recently I've tried to cut out all the little extras I was stuffing in at work - leftover cakes and pastries, cappuccinos, hot chocolate... they were empty calories that I didn't appreciate anyway, so definitely not worth my time in having. Instead, I now take green tea bags into work and refuse point-blank to snack unless I'm hypo. I've been going hypo a lot recently and that's going to be the next thing to fix, considering all the extra calories I have to take in to get my blood sugars back up :l I've also started to re-incorperate some exercise into my life. Sterotypically perhaps, I've gone for using the Wii Fit. It's in my house, out of public sight, and it records calories for me! It'll do. I've used it four times so far (on each of my days off) and I'm going to try and do it every day, whether I'm working or not. I'm thinking that it'llbe a lot easier to get the exercise in, considering that the Circus has now finished at work so I won't have anymore absolutely ridiculous shifts. In any case, I've done 30 minutes a time for the last 4 times, and I want to push it up to 45, including 15 mins of muscle exercises. Last night I did the muscle exercises for the first time, and I really felt like they did something! Here's what I did last night;
In other news, I have 2 more weeks at Eden before I finish. Then, a week of relaxation before I go to Leeds :S Yesterday I enrolled for my elective module which was a scary experience - I ended up picking Upper Intermediate French and Introduction to Greek Philosophy... now I have to brush up on my French >_< nightmare! Looking forward to it though! CommentsLeave a Reply |
